On March 29, 2023, Ambassador Guo Min attended the Opening Ceremony of the Special Exhibition of Chinese Art from the collection of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art. Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party - Head of the Central Office Tahir Budagov, Deputy Minister of Culture Murad Huseynov, director of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art Chingiz Farzaliyev and other high level officials of Azerbaijani government, and more than 200 people, including representatives from diplomatic corps,accredited to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan-China Friendship Association the literary and artistic circles and the media participated.

     

     

In her speech, Ambassador Guo Min said that Chinese civilization is extensive and profound and has a long history stretching back to antiquity. Since ancient times, it has been known for its openness and inclusiveness, and it has gained new vitality through exchanges and mutual learning with other civilizations over its history of more than 5,000 years. Not long ago, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping proposed the Global Civilization Initiative, emphasizing that cultural exchanges transcend cultural estrangement, mutual learning transcend cultural conflicts, and tolerance transcend cultural superiority. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Azerbaijani side to create a new situation of people-to-people and cultural exchanges, cultural integration, and people-to-people communication between the two countries, so as to make the world civilization garden colorful and full of vitality.

Ambassador Guo Min emphasized that as the largest art collection center in Azerbaijan, the National Museum of Art holds hundreds of Chinese art works, which is an important proof of the long-term friendly and civilized exchanges between the Chinese and Azerbaijani peoples. I hope that through this exhibition, guests can experience the breadth and depth of Chinese civilization, the vitality of the ancient Silk Road, and deepen mutual understanding and friendship between our countries.

     

     

In his speech, director Chingiz Farzaliyev introduced the characteristics of the Chinese art collection in the museum, emphasizing that the dazzling traditional Chinese culture is unique in modern human civilization and has made important contributions to the progress of world culture. He hoped that this exhibition could make positive contributions to promoting cultural exchanges between Azerbaijan and China.

During the opening ceremony, teachers and students from the Confucius Institute of Azerbaijan University of Languages were also invited to perform exciting programs such as Beijing Opera, cucurbit flute, dance, and tea ceremony, demonstrating the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture and creating a strong and warm Chinese atmosphere.

     

     

This exhibition displays a total of over 300 examples of Chinese art in the museum, reflecting from different aspects the unique artistic aesthetics, exquisite craftsmanship, and colorful social features of multiple historical periods in China, attracting visitors to stop and take photos.
