On February 8, 2022, Ambassador Guo Min met with newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Azerbaijan Mr. Abdelouahab Osmane.

Ambassador Guo Min congratulated Mr. Abdelouahab Osmane on his new position and said that China and Algeria have a long-standing traditional friendship. China was the first non-Arab country to recognize Algeria. Algeria is one of the first African countries to establish diplomatic relations with China. In 2014, China and Algeria established comprehensive strategic partnership, the relations between the two countries have achieved new and long-term development, great success has been made in various fields of China-Algeria cooperation. Algeria is an important country in Africa and is firmly committed to China-Africa cooperation. China is willing to work with Algeria to further strengthen China-Africa cooperation, jointly uphold multilateralism, and build a China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era, to better benefit the people of China, Algeria and Africa with more practical achievements.

Ambassador Abdelouahab Osmane fully agreed with Ambassador Guo Min’s high marks on Algeria-China relations,  stressing that Algeria and China are good brothers and partners. Algeria attaches great importance to the development of relations with China and is willing to deepen cooperation with China in various fields, and push for better and faster development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Ambassador Abdelouahab Osmane looks forward to establishing good working relations and personal friendship with Ambassador Guo Min, promoting the cooperation between the Embassies of the two countries in Azerbaijan, and making positive contributions to promoting the friendship between Algeria and China from generation to generation.
