On July 23, newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Guo Min presented her credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.
Ambassador Guo Min, conveying cordial greetings and best wishes from President Xi Jinping, noted that for 27 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, relations between China and Azerbaijan have maintained dynamic development in a stable and healthy direction. This year shows its significance in the history of the development of bilateral relations. High-level exchanges between the two countries are frequent, and exchanges and cooperation in various fields have yielded fruitful results. She said that it is a great honor serve as the Ambassador of China to Azerbaijan during the period of rapid development of bilateral relations, and expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the consistent and firm support on issues relating to China’s core interests. Ambassador Guo stressed that as Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan, she is willing to work closely with the Azerbaijani side to implement the important agreements reached by Leaders of the two countries in Beijing in April this year, and do her utmost to promote the development of bilateral relations and practical cooperation in various fields between two countries to a new level.
President Ilham Aliyev welcomed Ambassador Guo Min in her new post and asked her to convey his sincere gratitude and good wishes to President Xi Jinping. I. Aliyev spoke highly of the current level of development of bilateral relations and gladly recalled the meeting with President Xi Jinping during the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing in April this year. He noted that Azerbaijan is willing to strengthen practical cooperation with China in economy and trade, transportation, tourism, investment and other fields within the framework of "Belt and Road Initiative". He and various departments of the Azerbaijani government will provide strong support and assistance to Ambassador Guo Min in performing her duties.
Ambassador Guo Min arrived in Azerbaijan on July 18 and presented a copy of her credentials to Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov the following day.
