Ambassador Guo Min meets with Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan

On July 29, 2021, Ambassador Guo Min met with Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev. The two sides exchanged views on the implementation of the agreements reached by President Xi Jinping and President Ilham Aliyev during their telephone conversation and the promotion of practical cooperation between China and Azerbaijan in the fields of transport, communications and high technologies. 

Ambassador Guo Min noted that over 29 years since the establishment of China-Azerbaijan diplomatic relations based on political mutual trust, economic mutual benefit, and mutual learning in the cultural field, the two countrie have become reliable friends and partners. In recent years, under the personal promotion of President Xi Jinping and President Ilham Aliyev, bilateral relations have been developing healthily and Belt and Road cooperation continues to deepen. During the telephone conversation with President Ilham Aliyev on June 2 this year, President Xi Jinping expressed the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics, advancing the construction of the Asia-Europe transport corridor and improving regional connectivity. China is willing to strengthen cooperation based on mutual interests and mutual benefit with Azerbaijan in the fields of railway transportation, information and communications, science and technology.

Mr. R. Nabiyev noted that Azerbaijan actively supports and participates in the Belt and Road initiative, and is also ready to strengthen the conjunction of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor and the Belt and Road initiative. Azerbaijan will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with China in the areas of logistics and transport, information and communications, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, big data, smart cities, etc.
