On July 19, newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Guo Min handed copies of credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Elmar Mamedyarov. Head of the press service department L. Abdullayeva and representatives of Asia Department of the Ministry attended the event.
Elmar Mammadyarov congratulated Ambassador Guo Min on the occasion of her assuption of duty and said that the development of relations between Azerbaijan and China is one of the priorities of Azerbaijan's diplomacy. In April this year, President Ilham Aliyev was invited to attend The Second Belt and Road Summit for International Cooperation, during which the heads of the two countries held fruitful talks and reached a series of important consensus, which pointed out the direction for the development of bilateral relations. The Azerbaijani side is willing to continuously expand and deepen cooperation with China in political, economic and trade, energy, cultural and other fields, and will, as always, give China firm support on issues related to China's core interests.
Ambassador Guo Min pointed out that Azerbaijan is a sincere good friend and reliable partner of China. This year, with frequent high-level interactions between China and Azerbaijan, is an important year in the history of the development of bilateral relations. After the meeting between leaders of the two nations in Beijing in April, in May, State Councilor and Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi paid a successful visit to Azerbaijan to implement important agreements reached by our leaders. Ambassador Guo Min said that through joint efforts, the mutual political trust of the two countries will certainly lay a solid foundation for achieving great results in practical cooperation for the benefit of our countries and their people.
