On September 16, Ambassador Guo Min met with Chairperson of The State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Bahar Muradova.
Ambassador Guo said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Azerbaijan 28 years ago, under the joint leadership of the leaders of two states, China-Azerbaijani relations have developed rapidly and cooperation in the field of Women and Children’s Affairs has made new achievements. The year 2020 marks the 25th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. China is willing to take this opportunity to work with other countries in the world, including Azerbaijan, to continue to implement the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and at the same time, to place the protection of the rights and interests of women and children in an important position in the fight against the epidemic. Considering that primary and secondary schools in Azerbaijan have reopened, the Chinese side specially donated 10,000 children's masks to the Committee to help the epidemic prevention work in Azerbaijani schools.
Bahar Muradova spoke highly of the development of relations between Azerbaijan and China and the achievements of cooperation in various fields, and also expressed gratitude to China for its strong support for the epidemic prevention work in Azerbaijan. It is emphasized that the Beijing Declaration adopted by the Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing in 1995 has reached a strategic goal and policy framework for promoting gender equality and guaranteeing women's rights, which has a far-reaching and positive impact on the global women's development. Bahar Muradova said that the Committee is willing to maintain close cooperation with Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan and contribute continuously to the development of women and children's affairs in the two countries.
After the meeting, Ambassador Guo handed over 10000 children’s masks donated by the SCO Chinese Committee on Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation to Azerbaijan.
